It was here that stories came to life, wisdom was shared, and nourishing meals were crafted by loving hands.
In times of darkness, the hearth provided a sanctuary, a place to rest, to return, to replenish. By fireside glow, songs rose like smoke to weave among the rafters, seasonal rites were honored, and the sacred dance of soil and sky was reflected in the rhythms of daily life.
Today, modern conveniences have replaced the necessity of the central hearth fire, yet there remains within our hearts an instinctual longing.…
The longing for the comforting crackle of a carefully tended flame, and the yearning to come home to a space where we can be seen, held, and embraced just as we are.
A place of warmth, belonging, and remembrance.
This is the fire we tend at The Glowing Hearth.
A Vision born of Ember, Earth & StormThe Glowing Hearth was birthed from a soul-deep longing for a place where time could soften and enchantment could weave, wild and rooted, throughout everyday life.
The seed of this vision was planted in the hearts of two spiritual seekers, lovers of lore and of land, Hannah Borababy and James Bethune (that’s us).
Before we met, we each spent over a decade in Asheville devoted to our own individual healing journeys. Cradled in the bosom of Mama Appalachia, we each in our own time explored yoga, tantra, mysticism, holistic healing and somatic embodiment.
Eventually, our paths aligned, and what started as a collaborative friendship gradually shifted into partnership. As our connection deepened, a growing nudge urged us to bring the practices that serve us as individuals and form the foundation of our relationship beyond the mountains to join with others who are nurturing spiritual community in the Charlotte area.
In the Fall of 2024, the upheaval of Hurricane Helene provided the catalyst for us to follow that nudge, and the pathway opened for us to land in our beautiful new home.
Within this home sanctuary, candlelight dances upon the walls,
herbs hang drying among the rafters, prayers twine along the halls & the rhythms of the seasons pulse through every gathering.
What We AreThe Glowing Hearth is a living, breathing sanctuary nestled just beyond the bustle of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Tucked within a quiet neighborhood near the gentle woodlands and winding creeks of the Carolina Piedmont, we are part healing space, part gathering space, and part garden dream.
With a wood-burning fireplace at its heart, a small organic garden at its center, and a healing temple deep within, this lovingly-tended home provides a spiritual base for the soul-weary, the wonder-seekers, and the creatively curious.
This space is specially curated to offer warmth, beauty, and belonging to those walking the path of practical mysticism.
Whom We WelcomeOur Private Membership Community is open to individuals of all identities, backgrounds, and heart-centered beliefs.
We warmly welcome creatives, professionals, caregivers, and holistic providers to join us here, especially those who feel the ache of burnout, the hunger for depth, the need for connection, and the call of something ancient and wise.
Many of our community members live and work in Gastonia, Cramerton, Belmont, and the surrounding Charlotte area.
They are individuals with full calendars and full hearts, who yearn to carve out sacred space where they can breathe deeper, feel more, and reaffirm what matters most to them.
We call forth the seekers, the soul-keepers, the tenderly untamed, those who long to feel more alive, more connected, and more enchanted in the lives they live.
